And the ability to add on is really nice- a lot of d20 as well as AD&D can be implemented relatively easily.
However, i disagree with you about illusions and healing. An illusion is not real, by definition. Belief doesn't make reality. And if healing is illusionary, why not regeneration? (I lost my arm, but i believe i have two, so i can use two weapons.)
But that is a relatively minor quibble since illusionist-healing easily house-ruled.
I wish C&C had two other things. Attribute scores for monsters, and spell schools for magic spells.
Outside of that, probably my favorite rpg.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8514595937073664352.post-74056873801918159012019-11-19T13:41:49.254-06:002019-11-19T13:41:49.254-06:00Hey Draconian, thanks for taking the time to reply...Hey Draconian, thanks for taking the time to reply to my thoughts on this game. I'm well aware of the Interface Zero game for Savage Worlds. I guess what I'm wanting is a mis mash of Savage Wrolds and Cyberpunk 2020/Red. While IZ 2.0 is good, it's not entirely what I was looking for. I will be using some of the gear and items for my home brew from IZ but thats about it. IZ 3.0 just released to Kickstarter backers not too long ago and I havent had the time to read it yet.Matt Starkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18356022803915643822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8514595937073664352.post-30555332964769937882019-10-16T16:42:19.989-05:002019-10-16T16:42:19.989-05:00It is unclear whether aspects of the rules are str...It is unclear whether aspects of the rules are streamlined (compared to Cyberpunk 2020) just for the sake of the Jumpstart Kit or a deliberate simplification that will be in the upcoming core rulebook hardcover too. Netrunner rules always required streamlining.
I didn't warm to the setting of 2045 and the end of the global Internet, but characters can still play with local problems caused by corporations which are powerful (but not too powerful), and let us not ignore the problems a strong U.S. government can cause even if Night City is not strictly a part of the U.S.
Savage Worlds already has a cyberpunk game which is aces: INTERFACE ZERO 2.0 (and soon there will be a version 3.0), which covers all regions of the world but especially the city of Chicago in a disunited United States. INTERFACE ZERO also exists in versions for Fate Core, Pathfinder and Starfinder rules.
Those dice included in the box look hard to read, although the 9 is obviously more angular than the 6.Draconianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11027582378862395586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8514595937073664352.post-9180478467897183842019-08-07T11:52:41.021-05:002019-08-07T11:52:41.021-05:00Sorry its taken me so long to get back to you on t...Sorry its taken me so long to get back to you on this. I'd say the adventure included in the book is a great one shot to get new players into Savage Worlds. Being that it is Savage Worlds, that means it wont feel like Cthulhu necessarily. The combat is very swingy vs Call of Cthulhu which is very deadly. It definitely makes for a very pulpy style of game.Matt Starkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18356022803915643822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8514595937073664352.post-35773161665330551722019-03-05T07:58:54.907-06:002019-03-05T07:58:54.907-06:00Excellent review!
